Joe brings a high level of experience and expertise from storyboard, design, animation and compositing, with a passion for character and humour. Prior to founding Rumpus he was an integral part of the Flash animation team at Aardman. He has directed several short films selected for screening at various festivals including Pictoplasma, Annecy and the New York International Children’s Film Festival.
Amongst other projects, Joe has directed interstitials for Nick Jr, a Youtube animation campaign for Plenty – Juan Sheet, 3 series of films for BBC Learning and most recently designed and directed the animation segments for Yolanda’s Band Jam on CBeebies.
Joe likes Vikings with guitars, run cycles and well animated characters made out of very simple shapes.
