The Brief

A new and inclusive vision for sustainable transport in Bristol has been co-created by people from communities across the city as part of Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership’s Community Climate Action Project.

The Partnership wanted an animated film and a social toolkit to communicate key messages from their Transport Vision. The film needed support the vision in amplifying important perspectives that are not usually heard in city transport decision-making, to show what could be possible if communities take action.

How We Did It

The Partnership had really brilliant brand guidelines crammed full of palettes and shapes that inspired our character and environment designs.

To grab people’s attention, we wanted the transport vision to tell it’s story top and tailed with a nice bit of Bristolian mixed media, making the film feel instantly relatable. Using some pretty recognisable Bristol photos, here’s how we opened and closed the film.

How Did We Do

Rumpus is committed to sustainable transport in Bristol, every member of our team walks or wheels to the studio, so we all felt the importance of this project. It’s been brilliant work with a local organisation that does so much for our city.

Working with Stef, Joe and their team has been such a pleasure and we are so happy with the end results. Stef and Joe met with us a number of times early on to really ensure we were all clear on the process and that they understood the brief and we felt really listened to. They provided really helpful support with elements that we were less familiar with, such as how to approach recording voiceovers and getting sound effects, and offered advice and guidance throughout. Marta’s illustrations have really brought our brand to life and they have created some beautiful characters and assets that we are so excited to use alongside the full animation. We would definitely recommend working with Rumpus on any upcoming projects and hope to be able to work with them in future.
