Released in May 2024, the platform fighter game MultiVersus is a crazy world where Warner Bros characters fight it out.
We produced a total of 33 hand drawn ring outs for Realtime and their client Player First Games, part of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment (WBIE).
It was dreamy to bring so many classic characters to life and we are loving seeing in the fully released title.
How We Did It
We had roughly three days to complete each two second ring out, sometimes they were quicker, sometimes slower depending on the complexity of the action. We used one day to rough out the character doing it’s thing, here’s Yosemite Sam’s rough pencil test.
We then had two days to make any changes, clean up the outlines and colour. It was super important to keep checking in on the original character design so we kept ourselves on model at all times.
Here’s just a small selection of the final ring outs in all their glory, there’s so many of them we can’t possibly pick a favourite.
